The experience
South Africa is a country full of once-in-a-lifetime experiences, from Cape Town, Table Mountain and the Cape Winelands to whale watching and Kruger Park safaris, but lesser-known is the propensity of epic golf experiences. These vary from Augusta-inspired Leopard Creek, on the edge of Kruger, to Jack Nicklaus’s Pearl Valley with its spectacular mountain backdrop.

Day 1
Arrive at Kruger Park and your five-star Lukimbi Safari Lodge in the southern part of one of the world’s most famed reserves, and home to the Big Five.

Day 2
Spend the day in pursuit of the Big Five, with morning and afternoon game drives, including a safari walk before spending a second night in the park.

Day 3
Transfer to Leopard Creek Country Club, on the doorstep of Kruger, and home to a course inspired by Augusta, and host of the Alfred Dunhill Championship.

Day 4
Time for a second round on a course renowned for its animal sightings before returning to a more traditional safari destination, Lukimbi Safari Lodge.

Day 5
Head to Cape Town where you’ll stay in a prime spot overlooking the V&A Waterfront in The Silo, a five-star architectural masterpiece with every luxury trimming.

Day 6
A third round of golf at the nature paradise that is Clovelly Country Club around False Bay, before heading to meet the penguins at Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town.

Day 7
A full day of discovering everything Cape Town has to offer, the culture, the cuisine and Table Mountain, and then checking in to the five-star La Residence in Francshhoek.

Day 8
Golf at Pearl Valley Golf Club, designed by Jack Nicklaus, followed by wine tasting at Muratie Wine Estate in the Knorhoek Valley, north of Stellenbosch.

Day 9
A full day touring South Africa’s famed winelands of Stellenbosch, including a wine tasted drive at Waterford Wine Estate, and a visit to Dylan Lewis Sculpture Gardens.

Day 10
Your fourth round of golf takes you to Gary Player-designed Erinvale, a host of the World Cup of Golf and with the Helderberg and Hottentots Holland Mountains as a backdrop.
